Who is eligible for at-home vaccinations?

Accepted Answer

Adults (18+) in Maricopa County who have difficulty leaving home — seniors, patients recovering from surgery, people with mobility limitations, and residents of group homes or assisted living facilities. We do not vaccinate children; please contact your pediatrician for pediatric vaccines. Adult caregivers and family members in the same household can usually be vaccinated during the same visit.

Is this covered by Medicare or insurance?

Accepted Answer

Yes — most adult vaccines are billed directly to Medicare Part B, Medicare Part D, AHCCCS, or your commercial insurance and are typically $0 out-of-pocket. The pharmacy only charges a home-visit service fee of $35–$65 based on your city's distance from our Sun City pharmacy ($35 NW Valley, $50 central Phoenix metro, $65 East Valley and outlying). The service fee is what covers travel and the in-home visit — the vaccines themselves are billed to your plan.

Question 3

What if my insurance won't cover a vaccine?

We run a benefits check before your appointment. If a specific vaccine is not covered by your plan, we'll call you with the cash price before scheduling so there are no surprises. You can always decline that vaccine and keep the others.

Question 4

How quickly can a pharmacist come?

Accepted Answer

Outside of flu season, most appointments are scheduled within 2–5 business days. During flu season (roughly September through December) demand is much higher and visits may be scheduled 1–3 weeks out — we strongly recommend booking early. Urgent requests (e.g., post-exposure tetanus) are accommodated same-day or next-day when possible year-round.

What do I need to have ready?

Photo ID, insurance card(s) — including Medicare Part B and Part D cards if applicable — and a list of current medications. Right after you book, you'll see a link (also sent by email) to a short online consent and medical-screening form — this MUST be completed before we can dispatch a pharmacist. It takes about 5 minutes.

Is it safe? Who administers the vaccine?

Every visit is performed by a licensed, immunization-certified pharmacist from Rightway Pharmacy. We follow CDC and Arizona Board of Pharmacy protocols, bring a clean field kit, and stay onsite 15 minutes after injection to monitor for any reaction.
